WHAT THE GREEN LIGHT DOESN'T TELL YOU
A typical CO alarm is designed to sound when carbon monoxide (CO) reaches certain levels for a certain length of time. Its green power light alone doesn't show you the CO concentration in the room.

Carbon monoxide can affect the body before symptoms feel serious. Concentration and exposure time both matter.
Symptoms are unlikely for most people, but persistent unexplained CO should still be investigated.
CO may build without obvious warning. People with certain health conditions can be affected sooner.
Headache, fatigue and nausea may develop with sustained exposure.
Disorientation, unconsciousness and death are possible as concentration and exposure time rise.
